We must be living in a time loop

I am a peasant, and so are you.

There are so many parallels between 1500 and 1600 and now.

We must be living in a Time Loop.

Capitalism is killing the world, devaluing and demeaning women and children.

We live in a world full of landlords, serfs, and a ruling class that could not care less about us.

How do I know this is a time loop? 

1. We have our own plague. COVID isn’t over, people are getting infected and dying at 2021 rates, mass media is not talking about this, and people are suffering, losing faith in institutions that have failed them. Just like in the 1500s and 1600s.
2. We can’t ignore our servitude. We can never go back to business as usual. But so many governments want to pretend that we can. Because of corporate oligarchy and corporate totalitarianism. It’s better for them if we go back to office buildings. It’s better for them if kids can go back to school, even if it means infecting each other. It’s better for them if we die and never question why. Is the nonprofit sector helping this back to the office problem? No, not really. Why? Because we are virtue hoarders. 
3. Wages have fallen as the cost of everything has risen, just like in the 1600s, when we had to have a peasant uprising to make the wages rise and have more vacation again. It took years but they did it. Nonprofits pay the least of any sector, yet we say we are the most pure of intention, the most noble. 
4. No job? No Money? Then fuck off. There’s a reason you see malls everywhere and not places to just be. We’ve lost the commons and big corporations and banks have taken their place. How can we start to see communal ownership again? It’s already happening.
5. People are being driven into the streets, refusing wage slavery. People are living hand-to-mouth lives of quiet desperation. There’s a reason you see more and more homeless people in every major city in the world. We have people being permanently disabled by long COVID, people who were laid off, and no longer on the unemployment rolls because their unemployment ran out, and so many other reasons. Each homeless person you see is not a personal failure, but a failure of our system to take care of others.
6. The only way we will get out of this is violent uprising. When has power listened to anything else but violence? In this way the class struggles on the left and the right are aligned, as millions are realizing the government has sold them out, and there is nothing to do but take to the streets Urban poor and Rural poor alike.  

Sylvia Federici wrote about this in Caliban and the Witch.

Because then we cannot unite and overcome the capitalists who steal our labour and make slaves of us all. And all we are asking for it just like the former serfs is equality! That’s all! We need to nurture our radical imaginations.

Why?

Because systems arise, not from systems, but from an idea. And we need to change our ideas if we want to change this sick culture. 

Da’Shaun Harrison writes, “What is rarely ever examined though is that the systems and institutions are maintained by power but are created first through an idea.

At the root liberation must mean cultural revolution as well as a destruction of a socio-political institution that hold these systems in place, which means that abolition cannot be the end; and only be the beginning. 

Systems are built by an idea and the power to actualize the idea which means that if abolition is only about eradicating systems are providing resources to people within the world through which the systems are created it cannot be and it is not enough.”

Harrison continues, “We need harm prevention as well as harm reduction but we can’t stop there. Systems are first maintained by an idea.

So Liberation must mean cultural revolution as well as a destruction of the socio-political institutions that hold these systems in place. Systems based on anti-black capitalist cis hetero patriarchal systems of violence and domination must be destroyed. Anti fatness is based on colonialism Christianity and anti blackness.

In other words the world gives birth to systems and structures, it is not created by them.
