As I engage with people in community, I am asking for support in holding myself accountable. (And others if asked)
Please feel free to include in the message if you have any thoughts/reflections/concerns about anything that I have said, written or been featured in.
If there are any resources that you think will improve/add to what I do or how I navigate the world please feel free to share. My hope is that we continue to learn with and for each other.
*though an email address is required to submit the form, if you do not want me to contact you back about any feedback provided please let me know. it is absolutely your right and consent + boundaries during this process are very important*
Shout out to Oumou Sylla for her page about accountability, I appreciate you!
Here is how my accountability and unlearning work has gone so far:
In my racial equity learning and unlearning, a lot of patient and knowledgeable people have taught me. I feel grateful to be in relationship with:
Shout out to:
- The Racing to Equity Leadership Cohort
- Nneka Allen of The Empathy Agency
- Nicole Salmon of Boundless Philanthropy
- Rachel Wyley of Culture Kinesis
- Deneisha Thompson of 4Impact Consulting
- Esther Lee of Community Centric Fundraising
I look forward to continuing to build and deepen relationships to keep myself accountable in anti-racist work. I want to be a traitor to whiteness, and convince each white person in my trainings that ending racism should be their deepest desire.
Texts that have been helpful for me: James Baldwin, bell hooks, Desiree Adaway’s Whiteness at Work training, Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey and the Nap Ministry, Sand Talk by Tyson Yunkaporta, Virtue Hoarders by Catherine Liu, I Hope We Choose Love by Kai Cheng Thom, and others. I always welcome recommendations for reading topics or trainings I should take on unlearning white supremacy.
Racial Justice in Action
With the last four years of being radicalized by the Black Lives Matter movement, and the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, I have turned my work more towards racial justice than ever before. Here’s what that looks like.
Name it Podcast 2018-2020
Covering interviews with Veronica Garcia of the Wealth Reclamation Academy of Practitioners, Grief and Joy with Kierra Taplin, Racial trauma and Black racial awakening in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests with Dr Debbie Jenkins, Hegemonic Masculinity with Aaron Levine, and many others.

Organizing experience:
In 2023 and 2024 I was honored to be asked to be part of a group of co-conspirators who were successful in getting a large number of petition signatures and getting a large association defunded from failing to acknowledge its anti-Black racism and white supremacy. Resulting in new Black leadership and an increase in interest in holding this organization accountable by its members.
In 2024 I am part of a panel at a conference in Toronto about my experience with this organizing group.
Consciousness Raising Presentations
From 2020 to the present I have also been able to incorporate the 15 aspects of white supremacy into my keynotes, presentations and workshops on difficult conversations, resisting work, and post capitalist futures. I will continue to do this.
I look forward to continuing my unlearning white supremacy journey and helping other folks continue their unlearning white supremacy journeys as well. If I can do anything better, please let me know.
