I’ll go first. Here’s my favorite thing:
I get to do what I want all day long. Most of what I want to do is help other people through fundraising and social media and general motivational stuff, so I write, and I work with nonprofits, individuals, and businesses with my various businesses. Mainly, I don’t have to look over my shoulder for my boss, I don’t have to jockey for promotion, I don’t have to justify my actions to anyone, and if I have deadlines, they are largely self-imposed.
I love my job. Because I’m not defined by it. I have lots of things that I do, but they don’t add up to a job title. My linkedin profile is kind of ridiculous, actually. As are my update emails.
Now this post is ALL YOU!
What is your absolute favorite thing (or things) about your job?
Please leave a comment, (and just to sweeten the deal, you can link your website or linkedin profile too).
It’s summertime, and the living is crazy, so let’s talk about what you like. And then, maybe later, we can talk about what you don’t like. But please leave a comment and tell me, what’s your favorite thing about YOUR job?

I like connecting people with the causes that matter to them. Sometimes it is difficult when I think of my job as one where I am only asking for money from everyone all of the time. But when I have the perspective that I am serving the donor as much as the cause by giving them the opportunity to give to something that truly matters to them, then it is an honor and a joy!
Thanks for responding @birdgirl! Glad you like fundraising!
