What to get your blog for Hanukkah? Not music, silly!

The question on everyone’s lips, of course! Your blog has worked so hard for you all year! How to give back?
Well, Hanukkah starts on December 1st this year!

If your nonprofit blog is built on WordPress, here are some Hanukkah presents you will want to give!

I know, I know, what if your blog isn’t Jewish? Well, I’m not Jewish either, but giving presents is always in season!

Why not give eight plug-ins?

1. Growmap Anti-Spambot Plugin– This helps prevent spam comments. I had to spend so much time deleting comments before this plugin! Now I haven’t heard a peep out of the spammers in two weeks!

2. Yoast Breadcrumbs– This allows you to fully customize the web address for your post, so people looking for “how can I learn about …” will find you even more easily.

3. WordPress Editorial Calendar Shows you very clearly where your blog posts are, and you can create them right in the calendar!

4. Photo Dropper– This allows you to find creative commons pictures on flickr quickly and put them directly into your post.

5. Page Links To– When you have a page on your site that you want to link to another site.

6. CommentLuv Plugin– This makes people happy when they comment on your blog because it automatically links their last blog post.

7. WordPress Database Backup– This is good if you’re afraid of losing your posts.

8. SEO Slugs-This takes out words like “in” “and” etc. to optimize your web address for your post.

Where to find them? Just go to the plugins section of your blog and click search! Your blog will thank you!

BONUS! Get your blog a makeover with Danielle Bardgette, Graphic Designer TO THE STARS! (Okay, just kidding about the stars part. She’s very affordable. But this is so worth it!)

And of course, give yourself a present too, and sign up for my mailing list! Free tips! Monthly! To your inbox!

Such a deal!

  1. Oh my gosh, thank you so much for these suggested plugins. The spam comments on my blog are getting ridiculous, and we’ve had some issues with malware because of it. I also really love Commentluv – I’ve been noticing it on more and more blogs and was curious to know how I could get it. Glad I found it on your blog!
